This guide will cover the security options attached to your LINO account. If at any time you feel you need help or have questions, please reach out to the LINO discord

Accessing the Security options

To get started, log into your account and click your username at the top right of the screen. This will show you all the options available to you.

The options available to you are

Change your password
Click "Change Password" to set a new one. The password is used to unlock your wallet. Note that LINO does not store your password, nor can they help you if you forget your password.

Change Email Address
Verifying your email address is a very important step in increasing your security. LINO will use this email to authorize logins and notify you of wallet updates. If you need to update your email address at any time you can click the "Change Email Address" Button.

Recovery Phrase
Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet in case you forget or lose your password. The recovery phrase contains 12 words. Please write these 12 words down, in order, and keep them somewhere safe offline. In the case that our service is unavailable, you still can have access to your funds through other Lino wallets by using the recovery phrase.

The 12 words will show up in the red box. Make sure you write them down in the exact order they appear. Once you have them written down, click the button that says "I've written them down"

Next, you will have to select the words from the boxes in the order you have them written down. Once you have completed this click "Confirm". This will complete the recovery option.

Please make sure you do not lose the 12 words you have written down. You can save these words in a physical location in your home, a USB back up drive, or if you have a trusted cloud service. Anywhere that you feel is secure. You mustn't lose your recovery phrase.

Two-Factor Authentication

Protect your LINO account with an extra layer of security. Each time you sign in to your LINO account, you will need your password and verification code. Click "Enable Two-Factor Auth" to start the setup.

You are going to want to download and install Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or HDE OTP (iOS only) for your phone or tablet. These apps will allow you to scan the QR code or manually add the codes.

Once you scan the QR code with the app you have chosen or entered the code manually. You will see a 6-digit verification code that you will enter into the verify box. Then click verify.

Additionally, you can save the QR code for your records along with the manual codes. You can rescan the code or re-enter the manual codes if you swtich devices.

From this point forward every time you log into your LINO account you will be asked to enter this 6-digit verification code. The code changes every 30 seconds, so make sure you have your device ready when you are logging in.
