When live streaming, you are required to have a good internet connection. We advise you to run a speed test, to help you determine what settings are optimal for your live stream. Based on your upload speed you will be able to determine what encoder settings are optimal for you.
Step 1
Download a broadcasting software and update the encoder settings
To start, you will need to install broadcasting software on your computer. In this article, we use OBS as an example.
Adjust the encoder settings
If your broadcasting software allows you to configure advanced settings, the following settings are highly suggested and the rest you can follow the default setting suggested by OBS.
- Rate Control: CBR
- Keyframe Interval: 2 (This setting is very important)
- Profile: Main
To find these Settings in OBS:
- Click File > Settings
- Click on Output
- Switch the Output Mode to Advanced

Suggested Video Bitrate: 4000-4500
FPS Value: 60
1080p / 30FPS
Output Resolution: 1920x1080
Suggested Video Bitrate: 3000-3500

Note: Live streaming can be done with different settings than those suggested on this page. The quality may vary depending on your network connection and location.
You are now finished with setting up your Encoder settings. Time to move onto setting up your Live stream!
Step 2
Fill out the stream info on DLive and get your stream key
DLive has a simplified go-live process. To start your live stream you need to be signed in.
- Click on the camcorder icon in the top right corner beside your avatar on DLive Web
Underneath the video player, you will see Live Stream Details. These fields are required to start your live stream initially
Title:
Enter a live stream title that will describe what your stream is about.
Language:
Select your language
Category:
Category will start to auto-resolve as you begin to type. There are over 1000 pre-populated categories that are available including games, lifestyle, web shows and more.
Tag:
Select tag(s) for your stream.
Mature Content:
Switch it on if your streams are appropriate for mature audiences only.
- Click Save
Please ensure you fill in all information in every column including the Tag column, otherwise you will not be able to click the Save button.
You DO NOT have to enter your live stream information every time you want to start a live stream. You can start your live stream from your software and it will automatically use your live stream information from the last broadcast. The live stream information can be changed at any time.
Getting your Stream Key
- Click Encoding Server Information beside the Save button
- Click Regenerate Server URL
- Copy and Paste the Information into your streaming software
- If you are using OBS v22.0.1 or Newer, you will find DLive in the Stream > Service > Show All > DLive
- Paste the Stream Key into OBS
- If you are an older version of OBS, you will need to use a Custom Streaming Service or if using XSplit, you will need to use the Custom RTMP output
- Paste the Stream URL and Stream Key into your streaming software
- You can now press Start Streaming in your broadcasting software, and begin to grow on DLive!
Note: Your stream URL and the key will only show once you have pressed Save after entering all the details listed above.

- When it asks for your key, follow the same steps at the start of the guide to access this information.
Importing your OBS Settings to Streamlabs OBS (SLOBS)
- If you choose to import all your OBS settings to Streamlabs OBS you will follow these steps
Step By Step: Settings Cogwheel on the bottom left > Stream option from the left > Click the "Show all services* box under Service > Scroll down the service tab to find DLive > Enter Stream Key in the box below.
